Our 3rd installment has been released!!! This one, titled "Battle of Hyrule (part 2)", is one of my greatest achievements at composing battle music to date. Here is the YouTube video with my commentary, but be sure to check the piece out on my Audio Submissions list, as YouTube is famous for butchering audio quality:

For those who don't know, machinima is when someone takes video game footage and makes a video out of it; oftentimes skits or music videos. In a bout of boredom and the desire to do SOME video work (since I aspire to make films, but never have the time AND ambition at the same time to do it), I made a World of Warcraft music video, using the MuteMath song "Clipping" from their new Armistice album.

Because YouTube was retarded and wouldn't let me post it there, I have the video up on Veoh as well as Warcraftmovies.com!

View them here ("Aldenorai" is the name of my Lv80 Blood Elf Priest main):
Veoh: Click here (it's not as good quality here)
Warcraftmovies.com:

Because I could never get WoW Map/Model viewer to work on Windows Vista (especially after the WotLK expansion), I instead spent 6 hours capturing ingame footage myself using my Lv80 Blood Elf Death Knight "Andantino" and a decoy DK I made on another server in his likeness to capture the DK start area footage to stage my video, then took another 6 hours to do all the post-production (editing/color correction). If you play WoW, and you've played a Death Knight, you will likely be able to follow the "story" taking place in the video.

In other news (and the answer to the second Title question):

I have been watching Aion online for a long time, back when it had a website but was only a rumor floating around the gaming community, and as its release closes in, I have been sucked completely into its void of awesome. I've prepurchased the game, made my two toons Arkhael (priest) and Fionn (scout) on the Azphel server (playing Elyos because white wings are the best) as part of this weekend's Preselection event, then will proceed tomorrow (Sunday, 9/20) to the Head Start event where we preorders get 2 days head start into the game.

For more info on Aion, their site is:

Don't miss it. The piece is titled "Meeting the Princess", although Newgrounds only allows for 30 characters.

Check it out!

Hopefully, if I have the time to dedicate to making a new rock album, that is what its title will be.

The first two tracks are up:

1) All the Same
2) We Believe

Grifon2014 of YouTube made a video of his performance of the lead guitars on The Fade. Just by listening to the song, he created his own tabs of the lead guitar parts and did a phenomenal job performing it.

So giving props where props are due, here's his performance:

BMB Finishes decided to release some pieces from the soundtrack (one MP3 a weekat a time periodically for the next several weeks) before the entire soundtrack will be released. That date is undecided currently, but for now I have uploaded the first piece that was in highest demand, "Music Box".

This track, featuring the beloved Song of Storms, is now downloadable both here and on the Hero of Time website: http://www.theherooftime.com

Enjoy!

First of all, I can't believe I NEVER RELEASED the MP3 of the "Hero of Time Dance Party". I so thought I did. Shows how much I pay attention. >.>

Also, because I hate only posting one song in a day, I added a slightly older Battle loop from my "Hoshima" RPG Maker XP demo (which if people want to play it, I may have to reupload it, as it was uploaded on Megaupload a few years ago, and probably has a dead link now).

So enjoy the new pieces. God, I still can't believe I forgot to post that Hero of Time dance party song. Sheesh!

After spending 5 hours performing a rough mix on the first episode of the anime we were given, then turning around and spending 3 more hours tweaking things, I brought it into the Cahills' home studio for QC (quality check), and ended up spending 4 more hours further refining everything.

Seems tedious, huh? From my experience in composing for people like BMB Finishes, one golden lesson I've learned in the entertainment industry is that the more refining you do, the better quality the product. I'm actually pleased with this refined mix, as it's far more true to the original Japanese dub than my initial rough mix.

The engineers over in Singapore are liking our work and our progress thusfar, so things are looking up. They're already talking about giving us a full-time deal of 200 episodes per year (17 episodes per month) to dub for them. If this works out, I have my side-job (aside from college) cut out for me. And the timing couldn't have been better since I recently quit my job at Target due to physical problems the job was causing me.

So I'm crossing my fingers. The refined mix is soon to be in the hands of the company in Singapore, for their QC session, before they send it off to the Japanese company for approval. The approval of the Japanese company will likely be the determining factor between whether we fly or fall as an Anime Dubbing Studio.
