A machinima music video? Playing a new MMORPG??

Posted by Setu-Firestorm - September 19th, 2009

For those who don't know, machinima is when someone takes video game footage and makes a video out of it; oftentimes skits or music videos. In a bout of boredom and the desire to do SOME video work (since I aspire to make films, but never have the time AND ambition at the same time to do it), I made a World of Warcraft music video, using the MuteMath song "Clipping" from their new Armistice album.

Because YouTube was retarded and wouldn't let me post it there, I have the video up on Veoh as well as Warcraftmovies.com!

View them here ("Aldenorai" is the name of my Lv80 Blood Elf Priest main):
Veoh: Click here (it's not as good quality here)
Warcraftmovies.com:

Because I could never get WoW Map/Model viewer to work on Windows Vista (especially after the WotLK expansion), I instead spent 6 hours capturing ingame footage myself using my Lv80 Blood Elf Death Knight "Andantino" and a decoy DK I made on another server in his likeness to capture the DK start area footage to stage my video, then took another 6 hours to do all the post-production (editing/color correction). If you play WoW, and you've played a Death Knight, you will likely be able to follow the "story" taking place in the video.

In other news (and the answer to the second Title question):

I have been watching Aion online for a long time, back when it had a website but was only a rumor floating around the gaming community, and as its release closes in, I have been sucked completely into its void of awesome. I've prepurchased the game, made my two toons Arkhael (priest) and Fionn (scout) on the Azphel server (playing Elyos because white wings are the best) as part of this weekend's Preselection event, then will proceed tomorrow (Sunday, 9/20) to the Head Start event where we preorders get 2 days head start into the game.
