About damn time!

I'm sure at least someone was thinking that, anyway.

I finally got the time to sit down and make the cover that you all asked and voted for:

Touhou 8's "Imperishable Night" (aka "Old World")

I haven't forgotten

2009-11-15 13:08:37 by Setu-Firestorm

I haven't forgotten about the remix of "Old World" from Touhou 8, but what I have encountered this weekend was a research paper for my Macroeconomics class, along with a week's work of homework to compensate for having Veteran's Day off, so I haven't had the time to sit down and compose it.

I will keep you guys updated though, when I do get it done. That, and I'm also taking a bit of time to decide what I want to do with the piece instead of just rushing right into making something that might not sound that great.

Also, The Hero of Time has completed its LA screening and the announced date for the public online release is December 14th! The site hasn't been updated quite yet, but they will updated it in time with further information.

The people have spoken!

The winner of the VGMusic-Rendition Vote is: "Old World" from Touhou 8! This was a joint voting between Facebook and my Newgrounds. Here is the list my tally of both sites:

- "Lament of the Highborne" from World of Warcraft
*** - "Old World" from Touhou 8
* - "Killer Snake Duel" from Dark Cloud
* - "Main Overworld Theme" from Conker's Bad Fur Day
** - "Scars of Time" from Chrono Cross
* - "Lava Reef Zone" from Sonic & Knuckles
- "Frog's Theme" from Chrono Trigger

I hope to have this done by the end of the week, although I do have a busy week with homework AND job-hunting, so I'll try without guarantee to have it by some time this weekend.

Proposition Part 2

Updated

Okay, you guys have spoken (as far as the "Tell George what Video Game Rendition to Do Next)! I'll list the suggestions made to me and you guys vote among them. On Tuesday (in 2 days), I'll announce which one I'm going to do (you can look these up on YouTube to hear what they sound like):

- "Lament of the Highborne" from World of Warcraft
- "Old World" from Touhou 8
- "Killer Snake Duel" from Dark Cloud
- "Main Overworld Theme" from Conker's Bad Fur Day
- "Scars of Time" from Chrono Cross
- "Lava Reef Zone" from Sonic & Knuckles
- "Frog's Theme" from Chrono Trigger

I'll be tallying these up on Tuesday and announcing which one I'll be doing.

On a side note, thank you for linking off to the pieces you were suggesting. A couple of these games I haven't played before and it helped to get to hear the pieces (actually, I've never played Touhou 8 or Dark Cloud. I never got too far in Chrono Trigger either).

I have a proposition good til Sunday, November 8th.

Part 1: Suggest any video game theme (preferably one that's relatively well-known so I can find it and hear it) that you'd like to hear me compose a rendition of, and on Sunday, I'll tally up the most commonly occurring ones.

Part 2: (on Sunday) I'll post the most requested and let you guys vote on which one I'll use.

Have at it! =D

To build hype for the upcoming screening of The Hero of Time in Los Angeles, BMB Finishes has produced a new trailer to promote the film. I composed the music here in this trailer specifically for the trailer and this piece is also available for download, titled "Journey through Time".

This time, he is performing the lead guitar part for "I'm Falling", the commission song with lyrics by Tyler Wozniak.

Our final installment, titled "Demons of the Elements", is now up! Stay tuned for the Official Soundtrack Release!

Also, be sure to read the Author's note on the piece, as it describes how this piece was not finalized due to the fact that it was originally rejected for its originally-intended scene.

The man - the machine - has recorded yet another guitar performance of one of my songs. Not only am I flattered that he'd do such a thing, I'm quite astonished that he took music I created on a computer and did his part to make it happen in reality.

Give this guy a hand as he performs the lead guitar part to "With Open Eyes".

It's LIVE and ready to go!

Here's the video with my commentary (would've been nice if I remembered to shave =p):
