Setu-Firestorm's News

I haven't had much time to check up on my NG profile from how much work I'm doing.

Sorry for leaving you guys in the dark.

Project Northrend stats: Raleigh (Blood Elf Paladin) is now LV 48 (I call it, Level Buying from the private server) and Guild master of "Knights of the Sun".

Well, I'm back to working on the Legend of Zelda music now that Christmas is over. I'm getting things done nice and smoothly and still get my WoW fix every night. Woowee.

Project Northrend stats: Raleigh (Blood Elf Paladin) is now LV 33 and Guild master of "Knights of the Sun".

I'd like to wish you all a Merry Christmas.

If you don't celebrate Christmas, then have a Merry "whatever-the-hell-you-want-to-call-it " Day!

If you celebrate Hannukah, then Happy Hannukah, so long as your holiday is "happy" and doesn't get "merry" for "merry" would be an abomination before the Lord. ;p

I don't wish Merry "Xmas"'s not for religious reasons, but if you want to anyway, then have a Merry Special "X" Day!

And to everyone else.....Merry Ghostmas!

The Fall 2007 semester is done. I probably did horribly on my Chemistry final, but I don't care. Pass or fail on the exam, I still pass the class.

Now I have more time to work on the LoZ film score and build up my LV26 Blood Elf Paladin. >=D

It's that time again!

To fly?
To make a gookie? (0 . 0)

No, it's time for final exams. That event that occurs twice a year for the average college students where they crack each others' heads open and feast on the goo inside. Fortunately, I only have 2 classes to take finals in, and only 1 of them I'm not looking forward to because the instructor's been one of the crappiest instructors I've ever had.

I was just listening back to my older work (no, I'm not narciccistic just because I'm proud of my work =p ), and I listened to an old soundtrack of mine that back in 2003 was a big hit in the OHRRPGCE community Castle Paradox. Now, my composing skills have gotten better since then (along with my mixing techniques), but I can't help but listen to those pieces from "Neo Krysta III: The Guardian War" and think to myself "God, I feel like there was such inspiration that I once had back in that day that I don't seem to have anymore."

Granted, I am inspired now, but in a different way because my innocent ignorance was lost when I had to go with the "growing-up flow" that everyone apparently goes through in their early to mid 20s when the reality hits them that they're not a "kid" anymore (except to the older folks). Now, I've just found a way to look beyond the everyday stresses of life and find inspiration in the beauty of the simple things around us that we take for granted. I can look at a flock of birds flying through the sky or watch birds by a lake and find a peace and inspiration in that. Maybe I'm just going crazy, I don't know, but if it brings me hope, I consider it a good thing.

Anyway, enjoy the two old pieces I posted from the NK3 soundtrack. Just listening to it again after 4 years has made me want to remake that game and actually finish it.

Currently listening to:Red - album: End of silence
Currently playing: World of Warcraft via Project Northrend
Currently doing: A whole lot of not a damn thing

So the only news for now is:

- I will only be uploading instrumentals to my rock songs on NG from now on
- I just recently composed another Legend of Zelda piece (although it is NOT from the film I'm scoring) just because I got tired of only having a lot of rock in my audio page and not as much new orchestral work anymore.

I'm currently waiting for the next scene to be sent to me.....well that and not looking forward to finals in about 2 weeks.

Think I'll play some WoW to take my mind off of it.

Since you people hate my vocals so much, you won't have to listen to them anymore. For all my new rock songs, I will be posting the instrumentals, so at least the hardest part of my work can be appreciated (the MIDI making of the rock music).

Yes, I'm insulted, but I'll get over it. Besides, I find that my own rock songs are much more enjoyable without vocals anyway.

So anyone who's reviewed the new AP song I apologize that your reviews were lost because I deleted the vocals version and uploaded the instrumental.

Offer advice. I'm talking about the vocals (unless there is something about the music that you feel could be better; then I'm interested in hearing your input).

So yeah. I swear to God I don't want to hear another "your vocals suck" or "your vocals blow" because I'm getting sick and fucking tired of it. If you think the vocals are bad, then you can do one of two things:

1) Offer useful advice for how I can improve them, or
2) Keep it to yourself

I don't even care if you want to just review it for the music's sake and leave the vocals out of it. I'm just getting absolutely fucking tired of hearing how much my vocals suck as if I don't already know that I need to work on them. Plus, I AM WORKING ON THEM! I've started working on them, so it's going to take time for them to get better; it's not a quick-fix.

So anyway, there's my rant. If this shit continues, I'll just upload the song instrumentals and you can go without hearing any vocals to it if that'll make the masses happy. Just lay off the damn vocals as if I'm unaware of their shoddiness.

Now, while I'm still practicing the new vocal techniques I've been learning, please have patience with me on that. For example, the second half of the second verse is a little rusty (along with a few other parts for those of you who have an ear for that sort of thing).

But rest assured, the music part of it sounds awesome! I've experimented with different VSTi's that I've always had and never really used (I tried Super Quartet for the drumparts instead of following my usual tradition to use Hypersonic). I also acquired Harmony Engine and attempted to play around with it in this song. Now, the harmonies in the first verse of the song I did do myself, but in the chorus and ending, I played with Harmony Engine (which I'm happy about because it means I can pull some hardcore Saosin shit! >=D)

Anyway, enjoy....as if anyone really cares about my rock anyway.
